We’re collecting 50,000 signatures to support Mitchell’s Law.

By signing the petition, you're standing up for accountability, justice, and safer roads for everyone. Your voice shows lawmakers that this issue matters — and that Indiana families deserve better.

As of July 1, 2026, Bill 1249 (formerly Bill 251) takes effect. Requiring law enforcement officers to offer a chemical test, specifically including a blood draw, to any person believed to operate a motor vehicle involved in a fatality.

While this is great progress, there is still work to be done. We need to go back next year and amend this law to include “serious bodily injury.”

We need 50,000+ more signatures to help make our next argument for laws against drugged drivers even stronger. Please continue to help us spread the word as most people assume the law already requires blood draw after serious accidents.

Help Indiana become the 2nd state in the nation to require these blood tests for serious bodily injury accidents as well as fatal accidents.

Awareness

Change the Culture Around Distracted Driving.

We made drunk driving socially unacceptable. It’s time to do the same with distraction.

It’s no longer enough to say “don’t text and drive.” Cell phones are not the only distraction.

We need to create a culture where distracted driving is treated with the same seriousness as impaired driving.

Every story shared, every conversation started, every comment posted builds momentum.
